I’m Tammy Matson, and I’ve spent more than twenty years on the front lines of organizational life — supporting leaders, building systems, and creating order in environments where clarity truly matters.

My career started in the fast‑moving world of start‑ups and manufacturing, where I learned how essential good systems are for teams who are growing quickly, wearing multiple hats, and trying to keep chaos from becoming normal. Those experiences shaped the way I work: practical, grounded, people‑focused, and built around making the complex feel manageable.

Over the years, I expanded into government, healthcare, and nonprofit roles, partnering with executives and Cabinet‑level leaders, improving workflows, redesigning SOPs, strengthening communication systems, and supporting operations at every level.

No matter the industry, one truth stayed consistent: people do their best work when the systems around them support their success.

HC stands for Hand‑in‑Hand Consulting—I walk alongside small business owners with caring, practical support so they don’t have to build their business alone. That’s the foundation of my work — and the heart of HC by Design.
